Eagle Dining Services Set to Wrap Up National Nutrition Month with a Get Fit for the Health of It Festival

Eagle Dining Services (EDS) will host the final event of National Nutrition Month, called Get Fit for the Health of It. This festival will take place in front of Dining Commons Friday, March 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be an array of activities from a picture booth, mini fitness classes, healthy and easy recipes to take home and more. Local businesses will also be in attendance such as Sugar Magnolia, Three Tree Coffee, Cork’s Kettle Corn and more serving up some of their own wholesome favorites. Not to mention that the first 100 people get free t-shirts. This event is open to the public and free of charge. Eagle Dining Services happily offers and encourages everyone within the community to attend and live the healthy Eagle lifestyle.

“The point of this event is to show and demonstrate resources both on and off campus that will encourage students, as well as help them maintain the healthy lifestyle they need whether they are at school or after they leave,” Brittany Parham, the Nutritional Coordinator for Eagle Dining Services said.

Eagle Dining Services has been working during the month of March to promote National Nutrition Month. This month EDS encouraged students to live a healthier lifestyle by showcasing different versions of the food they love, but with a fresh twist they can get at all dining locations. Each week a different theme was chosen and the recipes’ were focused around that. This month they dove into topics such as; Hydration, Playing with Protein and Healthy Carbs. The festival will be a final wrap up of all the helpful hints and tricks, of living a healthy life while enjoying your college career and beyond.
