Clinic Services (Armstrong)
Primary Care Clinic
The Primary Care clinic serves students who have a wide variety of concerns, from acute illness to chronic ongoing health issues to wellness and prevention. Services are provided by nurse practitioners under a contractual arrangement with Memorial Health University Physicians group.
Women’s Health Clinic
The Women’s Health Clinic is staffed by caring and qualified nurse practitioners and nurses. Patients are seen primarily by appointment and are encouraged to make appointments for annual examinations at least two weeks in advance.
GYT Clinic: Get Yourself Tested
This appointment is for lab testing only for HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea or chlamydia to verify your status, or for Test of Cure or 3 month re-screening after treatment for an STI. You will be seen by a certified medical assistant only for this testing.
Treatment is not provided at this visit. If a test from this visit is positive, you will be scheduled to follow up with a provider here for further evaluation and treatment. You should not urinate within one hour of this appointment–if you have urinated within one hour of this appointment you may be asked to reschedule.
If you currently have any symptoms that could be related to a sexually transmitted infection or if your partner has recently tested positive for such an infection and you were not treated, you will need to schedule an appointment with a provider in our clinic.

Health Services provides evaluation and limited management of mental health issues by nurse practitioners under a contractual arrangement with Memorial Health University Physicians group.
Medication management for ADD/ADHD is not provided by Health Services.
We collaborate with the GSU Counseling Center on the Armstrong Campus to address mental health needs of students. The well trained and experienced counselors provide individual assistance for personal difficulties such as anxiety, depression, sexual identity, relationship conflicts, eating disorders, growing up in a dysfunctional family, ADD/ADHD as well as group counseling.
Georgia Southern University Health Services provides consultation and vaccination recommendations for those students preparing for international travel. These visits need to be scheduled through the Primary Care Clinic.
Health Services provides a variety of immunizations and other injections.
GSU Student Health Services welcomes all students to utilize the many services we offer. We recognize that LGBTQ students may have specific concerns or issues that they want to be treated in a sensitive, caring, and comfortable environment. We want all students to feel comfortable and not feel that they have to hide their identity to come to a medical appointment.
Health Services provides an on-site medical laboratory to provide timely, accurate laboratory procedures in support of clinical evaluation and diagnosis. The lab is a moderate complexity CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) approved lab.
