Volunteer for OMI

Something great about our University is the spirit of volunteerism and traditions. We have an amazing opportunity for you to experience both of these at once by volunteering for Operation Move-In on the Armstrong and Statesboro Campuses on August 9.

What is Operation Move-In?

This event is a collaborative effort for faculty, staff, student and community volunteers to assist in welcoming our students back to campus. Volunteers assist in getting our students back into the residence halls by meeting and greeting families, answering questions, monitoring elevator traffic, unloading cars, and many other activities that go into moving about 4000 students into the residence halls in just a few hours! We would love to have you be a part of this True Blue Tradition.

Why should I volunteer?

When you volunteer at OMI, you’re greeting new students and families to campus and ushering in a new class of future Eagle Nation graduates. Leave an impression on the many smiling faces of Georgia Southern and participate today.

What will I be doing?

Volunteers will spend a few hours each day helping students remove items in their vehicles and assisting in moving those items to their rooms.
