What are the hours of operation for both Transit and the Parking and Transportation office?
Our office is open Monday – Friday 7:30am – 5:00pm. Transit service runs from 7am – 9pm Monday through Thursday and 7am – 6pm on Friday. Transit does not run on the weekends or when classes are not in session.
What hours are parking lots and parking areas enforced?
– Enforcement Hours for residential parking lots are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week..
– Commuter lots are enforced until 4pm.
– Ungated Faculty/Staff spaces are enforced 7:30am – 4pm Monday – Friday. We do have spaces that are reserved for our President, Vice Presidents, Deans, night time Faculty/Staff and Service/Delivery spaces that are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Those spaces are individually signed.
How do I purchase a parking permit? Other important information on new regulations beginning Fall 2017.
To purchase a permit, go online through the my.GeorgiaSouthern portal. Click on the link for “Parking Permits and Citations” in the Auxiliary Services window. Click on the tab which says Order A Permit.
To change information regarding your permit, log in to the my.GeorgiaSouthern portal. Click on “Parking Permits and Citations” ” in the Auxiliary Services window. Once logged into the parking portal, click on your active permit number. Changes can be made at the bottom. NOTE: We MUST approve the changes before they become active.
New Regulations have begun Fall 2017 and Virtual Permits are here! Parking and Transportation has now implemented regulations which will ensure accurate calculate lot occupancy and permit utilization. What do these changes mean for you? Students will no longer be issued parking decals and hang tags for faculty/staff will be used for gate entrance only. Your license plate has become your parking permit, therefore backing into or pulling thru spaces is no longer allowed making your license plate visible at all times. This new license plate recognition software will also open up a variety of online options as well, so it’s possible that you won’t have to step foot in the Parking and Transportation office again.
How do I pay or appeal a citation?
Citations may be paid online through the my.georgiasouthern portal. Click on Parking Permits andCitations ” in the Auxiliary Services window. You will need the citation number and license plate of the vehicle that was cited. You may also use our mobile app “Quick It”. Instructions for Quick It is printed on your citation.
All appeals must be made online through the my.GeorgiaSouthern portal within seven days of citation issuance. Click on Parking Permit and Citations” in the Auxiliary Services window and then on the citation number of which you wish to appeal. All appeals are submitted to an outside committee comprised of students, faculty and staff. Once a decision is reached, you will be contacted via email. All decisions are final.
What do I do if my vehicle has been booted?
If your vehicle is booted, you will need to pay the entire balance of your account to have the boot removed. There are no exceptions.
How do I update my vehicle information?
To update the vehicles on your account, log into your my.georgiasouthern portal. Click on “Parking Permits andCitations” ” in the Auxiliary Services window. Click on the permit number assigned to your account. At the bottom, you will have the ability to add, delete or edit the vehicles associated to you. All vehicles must belong to you or an immediate family member.
How do I get a temporary permit?
If you are driving a vehicle on a temporary basis, go through the log in process, click on your permit and add the temporary vehicle. Send us the date range and we will only have it active during that time period.
Someone is coming to visit me on campus, do they need a parking pass?
We highly encourage all visitors to campus get a visitors pass for the day. They are free of charge and need to be requested by either the student or staff member you are visiting. They will then request a visitors pass for you and you will receive an email confirmation and a link to go online and register your vehicle as a visitor on campus.
