About the Auxiliary Services Council of Georgia (ASCOG) Conference
We’re excited to host the 2023 Auxiliary Services Council of Georgia (ASCOG) Conference in Statesboro, Georgia at Georgia Southern University. Official conference events will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 14, and on Wednesday, March 15 until 2:00 p.m.
History of ASCOG
Rosalind R. Meyers, Vice President of Georgia Tech Campus Services (1995-2012), saw a need for the Georgia Auxiliary Services’ professionals to have a network where they could share best practices for their services, programs and facilities. She witnessed the Florida Auxiliary Services professionals from that state at NACAS (National Association of College Auxiliary Services) meetings talking to one another and connecting. She decided to start such a group in Georgia.

Off SR 67, with a range of restaurants nearby, we’re five minutes from downtown Statesboro. East Georgia Regional Medical Center, Georgia Southern University, and the campus’ Botanic Garden are within a mile of the hotel. Visit the Georgia Southern Museum, or hit the slides at Splash in The Boro Waterpark, within five miles. Hot breakfast and WiFi are on us.

- Group rates (non-commissionable; Georgia state sales tax, currently 8% will be added to all rates*) available.
- These rates include parking and per-room fees. Parking on campus at Georgia Southern University will be free to attendees of the ASCOG conference.

The Day1 Inclusive Access program has been a proven success at Georgia Southern University since it was made available to our students in 2021. The program allows students to digitally receive their class materials instantly and at a lower price than a traditional physical copy. The benefits of the program are clear, but the challenge was in communicating to the students how Day1 improves their learning experience and increases their chances of academic success. Additionally, we had to implement billing mechanisms that were timely and eliminated confusion.

Georgia Southern University’s Parking and Transportation Services team was looking for a way to improve the student and visitor parking experience with minimal cost. AIMS Parking offered a pay-by-plate app that we were able to implement on campus and more efficiently manage our visitor and time zone parking spaces throughout our three campuses at minimal additional cost. In the first year (2020-2021 Academic Year), we had $77k in revenue with 158 spaces. We have since expanded that to 300 spaces in the summer and fall of 2021, and in 2022 we had $70K in revenue. Derrick and Kristi go over the process of implementing and how the AMP Park app can help your self-op, license plate recognition-based parking environment.

Our Mobile Credential system, provided by Transact, utilizes NFC technology to allow students to access campus facilities using their Apple or Android smartphones or Apple Watch. This innovative solution is designed to meet the needs of our tech-savvy students, and we are eager to share with you the benefits it brings to our entire campus community. Our efforts to upgrade the accessibility of our facilities have been successful at our Armstrong Campus. We are now proud to bring this convenient and secure solution to our Statesboro Campus, a more extensive footprint with more systems and stakeholders we need to get input from. This presentation goes over the process of identifying what’s needed to switch to Mobile Credential, the pros and cons you have to work out, and the intricacies of successful implementation.

Partnering with CollegePads can be the first important step in creating a more robust off-campus service for your students. Participants will learn about the importance of creating a relationship with off-campus properties and how CollegePads assists to make that happen.
