Recreation Facilities

Georgia Southern has several recreational spaces that can be used as the for your event or even as an additional component to your conference. If you are hosting a sports camp, are looking to squeeze in a round of golf, or need access to workout facilities during your stay, a Conference Services Coordinator can assist you in planning activities and reserving the space you desire.

At approximately 215,000 square feet, the Recreation Activity Center (RAC) at Georgia Southern has a vast array of activities for guests to enjoy. The large facility is suitable for an indoor or outdoor event and has accommodated the university with special events including professional career fairs, concerts and Open Houses averaging more than 1,500 people. Hanner is a 4,358-seat multi-purpose arena. In addition to athletic events, Hanner Fieldhouse hosts the University’s Fall Commencement ceremonies, popular events such as a Rolling Stones concert and campus visitors such as President George W. Bush, Condoleezza Rice, Rudy Giuliani, Archie Manning and many more. View Photos


Stadiums and Athletic Fields

Allen E. Paulson Stadium was built in 1984 and over the years has undergone many renovation projects. Most recently, in 2014, the north stands were expanded to add an additional 6,000 seats so that the stadium now has seating 25,000 fans. The stadium features a prescription athletic turf playing field designed to accommodate both soccer and football as well as special climate-controlled VIP boxes with luxurious interiors, private restrooms and food service areas. Paulson Stadium reflects and enhances the growing importance of Georgia Southern University and Southeast Georgia – an importance symbolized by the area’s economic and educational impact on the state and nation.

J. I. Clements Baseball Stadium opened in 2005 and has seating for 3,000 fans. The grandstand area, which house concessions and restrooms, is a covered and the press box holds 30 media members with separate areas for television, local and visiting radio. The VIP section has 27 chairback seats along with an indoor room holding additional seating and a television. The Champions Room located on the Main Concourse has a large meeting room and is equipped with a kitchen. Also on site are batting cages, coaching offices, a team clubhouse and an umpire’s locker room.

Georgia Southern’s Eagle Field for soccer is a state-of-the-art facility with seating for 500 fans plus additional seating in grassy areas surrounding the field. A Musco lighting system was installed in 2012 allowing for night games. The locker rooms, located behind the main stand, are air-conditioned and the press box has internet connections for media as well as a filming deck to leverage coaching opportunities.

Golf Course

The Georgia Southern Golf Course at University Park offers a secluded meeting space with a beautiful view of our 18-hole Championship Course, voted one of Golf Digest Magazine’s Best New Courses of 2014.  Our multipurpose room can accommodate up to 91 guests with a variety of setup configurations available. Our PGA professionals and their staff are available to provide demos, clinics and programs. View Photos
