Fall 2020 Dining Plan Changes

Throughout these unprecedented times, Eagle Dining Services has strived to ensure safety and security throughout each dining location of Georgia Southern University. As the University prepares for students to return to campus this fall, we’ve evaluated our current dining plan offerings and assessed how each dining location will facilitate social distancing. We are happy to announce our new dining plan offerings for the 2020-2021 academic year. Eagle Gold and Eagle Blue will no longer be all-access plans, their rates will also be reduced and they will still offer access to our residential dining facilities as a result of the circumstances surrounding COVID-19. We will also introduce new Eagle Three and Eagle Five dining plans. Budget Bucks and EagleXpress Packages will still be available. Below, you will find information on each of these plans and their changes.

The New Eagle Gold

The new Eagle Gold dining plan includes 19 meals at our residential dining facilities (Dining Commons, Lakeside or The Galley) per week. These may be used in the residential dining facilities on either the Armstrong or Statesboro campus and a dining plan holder may use up to four (4) meals a day, Monday through Sunday. The New Eagle Gold dining plan also includes 300 Dining Dollars (D$) that may be spent at any retail dining location and/or GUS Mart on either campus. This plan will cost $1750 per semester.

The New Eagle Blue

The new Eagle Blue dining plan will include 14 meals at our residential dining facilities (Dining Commons, Lakeside or The Galley) per week. These may be used in the residential dining facilities on either the Armstrong or Statesboro campus and a dining plan holder may use up to four (4) meals a day, Monday through Sunday. The New Eagle Blue dining plan also includes 100 Dining Dollars (D$) that may be spent at any retail dining location and/or GUS Mart on either campus. This plan will cost $1500 per semester.

Eagle Three and Eagle Five

The new Eagle Three and Eagle Five dining plans aim to provide more convenient dining plan options for commuters, faculty/staff and community members of Georgia Southern University. Each plan gives you three (3) or five (5) meals in our residential dining facilities (Dining Commons, Lakeside or The Galley) per week. These meals can be used at any time these facilities are open. These plans will cost $395 for Eagle Three and $660 for Eagle Five per semester.

Budget Bucks
Budget Bucks plans are still available. Each offers $30 or $60 per week that may be spent at any retail dining location and/or GUS Mart on either campus. These plans cost $480 (for $30 a week) and $960 (for $60 a week) per semester.

FAQ

What if I purchased a dining plan during the “Gold for Blue” promotion? What happens to that?

Dining plans purchased during the “Gold for Blue” promotion will still be honored as Eagle Gold dining plans, meaning that upperclassmen who purchase a dining plan during this promotion will now receive a new Eagle Gold plan at the lower rate.

Will I receive a refund for my previous dining plan purchase?

If you have purchased and you have already been charged for your previous dining plan choice, we will work to refund the difference of that plan back to your account. So, if you purchased an Eagle Blue dining plan at the original price, we will refund the difference between plan costs. This means if you bought the previous Eagle Blue plan (at $1725) and kept the new Eagle Blue plan (at $1500), you would receive a refund of $225 as long as you confirmed your plan before the drop date.

Will EagleXpress Packages still be offered?

Yes, you may still purchase EagleXpress Packages for fall 2020. Information for EagleXpress Packages may be found on the Eagle Card Services website at GeorgiaSouthern.edu/eaglecard.

What do I need to do if I want to change my dining plan for fall 2020?
