National Nutrition Month

Throughout the month of March, Dining Commons, Lakeside, and The Galley will be educating the Eagle Nation on proper portion sizes and balancing their dining decisions. Check out the various “Eat Right, Future Bright” events we have going on throughout the month of March!

EAT RIGHT, FUTURE BRIGHT (2020)

Monday, March 2 & 9 at Dining Commons, Lakeside, and The Galley

Meatless Monday is a global movement with a simple message: one day a week, cut the meat.  On several Mondays during National Nutrition Month, we will offer meat-alternatives that still pack similar protein power. Stop by a designation station in each dining area to enjoy a plant-based power food bowl to keep you energized throughout the day.

Wednesday, March 4, 11 & 25 at different locations

Each week, we will have a special meal arranged by our Nutritional Coordinator Brittany Parham, highlighting proper portion control with healthy options.

  • March 4 at Lakeside DC (Statesboro Campus)
  • March 11 at The Galley DC (Armstrong Campus)
  • March 25 at Dining Commons (Statesboro Campus)

Every Tuesday and Thursday, 12-1p.m. at different locations

Crown the top vegetable in a bracket-style tournament! Each week, we will have a table set up in our residential dining facilities to taste vegetables that day. The top veggie in each bracket will move on to next week. The winner will be decided at our Eat Right, Future Bright Festival on March 25 and crowned “Top Veggie!”

Wednesday, March 25 in front of Dining Commons on the Statesboro Campus and in front of The Galley on the Armstrong Campus

Join us in wrapping up National Nutrition Month at our Eat Right, Future Bright Festival, located at Dining Commons and The Galley! We will have games, prizes, find out who’s the “Top Veggie” from our Veggie Madness bracket, get a t-shirt and so much more. Don’t miss out on the fun!
