Health Promotions to take place this August

Join Health Services for a variety of health promotions throughout the month of August. All events* are included in your student health fee each semester.

  • HIV Screening | August 21  | University Hall, Armstrong Campus
    • One in eight people infected with HIV don’t know they have it. Get tested for free at this clinic sponsored by Health Services, the Department of Public Health and the Gay Straight Alliance.
  • Health Services Open House | Wednesday, August 22  | Statesboro Campus
    • Students, faculty and staff are invited to stop by to tour our 39,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art building housing 48 exam rooms, a full-service pharmacy, physical therapy clinic and much more! Enjoy light refreshments, raffles and Eagle Eye Care specials!

    • One in eight people infected with HIV don’t know they have it. Get tested for free at this clinic sponsored by Health Services, the Department of Public Health and the Gay Straight Alliance.
  • Fresh Fruit Friday | August 31   | Russell Union, Statesboro Campus
    • Enjoy a sampling of fresh, in-season fruit while learning the health benefits associated with each food!

  • Mindful Yoga  |  Wednesdays and Thursdays  |  Counseling Center, Statesboro Campus
    • Learn yoga postures to cope with anxiety, depression and trauma. Breathing and meditation techniques will also be a focus of this interactive group. No previous yoga experience needed. 

 

*These events are intended for all Georgia Southern University students who have paid the student health fee that semester. An Eagle Card may be required for some events.
