Health Services Announces New Medical Director

Health Services at Georgia Southern University welcomes Angela Gerguis, M.D., into her new role as Medical Director. Dr. Gerguis joined Health Services as a Staff Physician in 2018 and was promoted into her current role in March 2022.

Dr. Gerguis graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of English with an emphasis in Technical Writing and Editing.  She obtained her Doctorate of Medicine at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1992 and completed residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Tennessee at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.  Dr. Gerguis has been in private practice in Statesboro since 2000, and for the last 5 years, has served as the Medical Director of Ogeechee Area Hospice, having obtained Board Certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine as well as her Board Certification in Family Medicine.
