AAAHC Re-Accreditation Announcement

In June of 2022, Health Services completed its re-accreditation process with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC) and has received recognition as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. Per the AAAHC, “a medical home provides services that are patient-centered, physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant-directed, comprehensive, accessible, continuous, and delivered to meet the needs of the individual patients served.”

Organizations that earn AAAHC Accreditation or Certification embody the philosophy of 1095 Strong, quality every day, a transformational movement spearheaded by AAAHC to equip ambulatory leaders with the best of what they need to operationalize quality practices.

“We are committed to offering the highest level of service here at Georgia Southern University’s Health Services. Working with the AAAHC is just another facet of how we provide the best care possible for our students and patrons,” stated Health Services Medical Director Dr. Angela Gergius.

Emily Rogers, Director of Health Services, stated, “The AAAHC is a reputable organization in our field. It’s very important to continue to work under their standards and to prove that we are offering the best environment for any patient that walks through our doors.”

Health Services’ new accredited term began on 13 June 2022 and will last until June 2025. For more information about the AAAHC, please visit their website at https://www.aaahc.org/.
