Sean Bear, MPH
Public Health Administrator
Sean Bear joined Georgia Southern Health Services in 2022 as our Public Health Administrator. He joins our team with more than 10 years of combined experience in public health, epidemiology, and humanitarian response. Prior to joining the Health Services team, Mr. Bear led the Coastal Health District’s epidemiology response to the COVID-19 pandemic and served as an Overdose Surveillance Epidemiologist with the Georgia Department of Public Health.
His passion for public health administration comes from past experiences working with Georgia Southern University (Leadership and Community Engagement), Samaritan’s Purse International Relief (Food Security and Livelihoods), and in the healthcare sector. Mr. Bear is a past Advisory Board member of the Savannah Police Department’s Behavioral Health Unit, and is a recipient of the Theodore S. Stern Cup and Georgia Southern’s Graduate Student Leadership and Service Award.
Mr. Bear is a graduate of College of Charleston and Liberty University.
