Primary Care Clinic

When students enter Georgia Southern University, they are automatically assigned to a Medical Team in the General Medical Clinic. Georgia Southern University Health Services has three Medical Teams composed of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses and certified medical assistants. They work as a team enabling each patient to return to the same providers and team for continuity of care. The teams are designated by color and consist of the Medical Team Blue, Medical Team Green, and Medical Team Gold. To identify your assigned Medical Team you must access Eagle OSH by logging in to Click on Eagle OSH (Health Center Online) under Services. Once you have accessed Eagle Online Student Health your team will be displayed on the appointment tab screen.

The Primary Care clinic serves students who have a wide variety of concerns, from acute illness to chronic ongoing health issues to wellness and prevention.  The providers in the Primary Care clinic are board certified physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.

  • Physicals
  • Respiratory Therapy
  • Gastrointestinal complaints
  • Infections disease management
  • IV therapy
  • Dermatology
  • Minor surgical procedures
  • Disease management (i.e. hypertension, diabetes, etc.)
  • STD testing and treatment
  • Musculoskeletal issues
  • Evaluation and treatment of mental health disorders
  • Metabolic and endocrine disorders
  • Neurological disorders
  • Laceration repairs
  • Minor Burns
  • Sprains
  • Minor Fractures
  • Infections
  • Rashes
  • Bites

Information Regarding Physicals

We do not file insurance plans for this service. However, we can provide you with a statement if you would like to file this service to your insurance plan. There will be a mandatory $20 charge for the following types of visits/exams/evaluations/physicals due at the time of service:

  • Sports physicals
  • Nursing school physicals
  • Employment physicals
  • ROTC physicals
  • Academic/school physicals
  • Camp physicals
  • Law enforcement training physicals
  • Scuba physicals
  • Heath care professional internship/externship/shadowing/clinical physicals
  • Athletic Training Education Program physicals
  • Any other physical/entrance examination not listed above that is a requirement for participating in a specific activity, program, or job
Information Regarding a Primary Care Appointment
  1. You may be required to submit a urine specimen at your examination visit for evaluation of specific symptoms. Please refrain from urinating within 2 hours before your visit if possible in order to not extend your visit.
  2. Drinking water will keep you hydrated. Staying hydrated will make it easier for the lab personnel to access a vein if it is necessary to draw your blood for testing.
  3. If the reason for your visit is injury please wear clothing on the injured area with no metal if possible as you may require an x-ray.
  4. If you have a sore throat or fever please do not eat or drink anything for 15 minutes before your appointment.
  5. No Peace Corps Physical Examinations are performed at Health Services.
  6. You may need to consult the Chatham County Health Department in Savannah, Georgia regarding immunizations such as typhoid, encephalitis, rabies, etc.
  7. Write down any questions you may have so you can discuss them with your provider at the time of your examination.


Prescription Refill requests:

In order to serve you more efficiently, if you require a refill on a medication prescribed for you by one of our providers, please contact the pharmacy where you filled the script to initiate the refill request electronically; or, you may send your provider a secure message in Online Student Health to request the refill.  Health Services providers do not accept telephoned refill requests.
