Summer Cleaning Responsibilities
Summer Cleaning Staff Perform interior cleaning services on campus like sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning light fixtures, waxing and resurfacing resilient flooring, scrubbing floors through mechanical means, disinfecting and sanitizing surfaces, window cleaning, trash removal (handling both hazardous and contaminated waste), and operating a wide range of powered custodial equipment. They provide litter pick-up to all building exterior areas (including lawns, flowerbeds, sidewalks, parking lots, patios/porches, public seating, waste receptacles, windows, window ledges, canopies, etc.) Employees work in a variety of locations throughout campus, but primarily within Housing Complexes.
Summer Cleaning Specifics
Shift specifics – 20 to 25 hours per week.
The Summer Cleaning program begins on May 13 and continues until August 16.
Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or Monday to Friday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Occasional scheduled weekend work may be required; shift may occasionally last until 6:00 pm depending on staffing needs.
Summer Cleaning Staff are hourly employees with a pay rate of $8.50 per hour.
Students cannot hold another on-campus position while employed in this position due to time recording methods.
