New Bus Route for Students Traveling to Eagles Corner Shopping Center

Starting January 10, students of Georgia Southern University have a new bus route available that will take them directly to the newly opened Eagles Corner Shopping Center and Publix Super Market. The new “Publix” route picks up travelers from usual campus bus stops on Lanier Drive, at the Dining Commons/Union/Bookstore area, Forest Drive near commuter parking and Freedom’s Landing residence hall. Students can catch the evening Publix route from 6 – 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday. There is no additional cost to ride the “Publix” route for students.

Statesboro’s new Publix location opened on December 14, 2022. Eagles Corner Shopping Center is a proposed 66,000-square-foot neighborhood center anchored by the Publix Super Market and located adjacent to Georgia Southern. Other businesses under development in the area include an Orangetheory Fitness center, Huey Maggo’s restaurant, Tidal Wave Auto Spa, Great Clips, Grand Nail Lounge, Tropical Smoothie Café and Stella Boutique.

Students can use the Passio-GO app to view where the bus shuttles are located and plan their trips accordingly. For more information, visit Parking and Transportation’s website at GeorgiaSouthern.edu/parking.
