Vickie provides leadership, direction, and the administration of the department. She is also responsible for planning, employee relations, policies and procedure development and implementation, and serves as the primary liaison to the campus Human Resources department on all matters; supports recruitment and hiring efforts for exempt staff positions throughout Auxiliary Services.
Vickie Shaw serves as the Director of Auxiliary Personnel Services at Georgia Southern University. She holds B.A. in English from Mercer University as well as a M.Ed. in Student Personnel Services with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration from the University of South Carolina. She worked as the Area Coordinator and Director of Residence Life at Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina prior to joining the Housing staff at Georgia Southern University in 2002. She is credited with strengthening the human resources area of University Housing before being named director of the newly established Auxiliary Personnel Services supporting all areas of the Auxiliary Services Division. In her role as director, Vickie seeks to foster a work environment that values customer service, open communication, personal accountability, trust, and mutual respect. She has served as both the secretary and president of the Georgia Housing Officers as well as served on the Planning Committee for the 2008 Southeastern Association of Housing Officers.
