What is EagleXpress?

EagleXpress is a stored value account attached to the Eagle Card. Students, Faculty and Staff can deposit funds into an account and use their Eagle Card to make purchases on or off-campus. When a purchase is made, the amount of the transaction is automatically deducted from the account balance.


Who can have EagleXpress?

Any student can get EagleXpress- even those with a Contract Dining Plan. The EagleXpress account is also available for faculty and staff.


How do I activate EagleXpress?

Your account is activated when the initial deposit is made, and deposits can be made as often as needed.


How can I make an EagleXpress deposit?

EagleXpress deposits can be made at many different locations: the Eagle Card Office in the Dining Commons, at the Kiosk in Dining Commons, Lakeside, and through our website. Deposits can be made with cash, money orders, checks, Mastercard, or Visa. Deposits can also be made online through your eAccount or by mobile by downloading the Transact eAccounts app for Android or iOS.


Is this like a banking system?

No. It is not a banking system, and cash cannot be withdrawn from the account. Refunds will only be issued once someone is leaving Georgia Southern (graduating, transferring, withdrawing, etc.), and will be issued by check at the end of the last semester they are here. This request will be accepted in writing only.


Where can I use EagleXpress?

EagleXpress cannot be used to pay tuition or class charges, or dining plans of any kind.

EagleXpress is accepted at all campus restaurants, stores, snack bars, Printing and Postal Services, and can even be used to pay for parking citations, Health Services visits, and make copies in the library. Off-campus retailers are also included. See the Vendor List for a full list of off-campus retailers.

EagleXpress cannot be used to purchase alcoholic beverages, tobacco, tattoos, firearms, tanning sessions or gift cards.


Can my parents make deposits?

Yes. Parents of students can make deposits using Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB or Discover cards online or at the Eagle Card Center on either the Statesboro or Armstrong campuses.  To make a deposit online, go to the eAccounts login page, and select “Make a guest deposit.” Parents will be required to know their student’s EagleID Number. Parents can also make deposits for students by mailing a check or money order to:

How do I get my Eagle Card

As an incoming student, you will get your Eagle Card at SOAR. You must be an admitted student to Georgia Southern University and have an assigned Eagle ID number.  You will be required to produce a government-issued photo ID (Current driver’s license, passport, state ID card or military ID are some examples) as part of the process.


What do I do if I lose my Eagle Card

Login to your eAccount, and select “Card Services.” Then click “Deactivate Card.” You may also call the Eagle Card Center at (912) 478-5311 (M-F 8 a.m.-5 p.m.). Once deactivated, your card will no longer work for Dining plans or EagleXpress. If you are living in a Residence hall, you will also need to report the lost card to University Housing.


Do EagleXpress funds expire?

No. Funds deposited into your EagleXpress account never expire.


What happens to my EagleXpress funds when I graduate from Georgia Southern?

If you separate from Georgia Southern for any reason (i.e. graduate, transfer) you can request a refund, and a check will be mailed to your permanent address. In order to process a refund, a minimum balance of $25 USD must be in the account.


Do you charge an overdraft fee?

You cannot overdraft your EagleXpress account. If your funds are insufficient to complete a transaction, the transaction will be declined.


Do you have a spouse card?

Spouses of employees (and students) may obtain a spouse card. This card can be used to add dining plans. Employees and spouses are required to visit the Eagle Card Center to provide proof of identity and a marriage certificate. The fee is $20.


How much is a replacement Eagle Card?

If you live on or off-campus, the replacement fee for an Eagle Card is $20.

If you are getting a replacement Eagle Card for an old, worn or damaged Eagle Card, turn in your old Eagle Card and receive up to a 50 percent discount on your new Eagle Card.
