Frequently Asked Questions

Eagle Card or Your Credential

Your “credential” is your physical Eagle Card or your digital Eagle Card Mobile ID. Either can be used as official means of identification at Georgia Southern University.

Any student, faculty/staff, retiree or connected university community member is capable of getting an Eagle Card or Eagle Card Mobile ID. You must have an assigned Eagle ID number to submit your credentials for approval to get an Eagle Card or Eagle Card Mobile ID.  You will be required to produce a government-issued photo ID (Current driver’s license, passport, state ID card or military ID are some examples) as part of the process.

Login to your Transact eAccount account, and select “Card Services.” Then click “Deactivate Card.” You may also call the Eagle Card Center at (912) 478-5311 (M-F 8 a.m.-5 p.m.). Once deactivated, your card will no longer work for Dining plans or EagleXpress. If you are living in a Residence hall, you will also need to report the lost card to University Housing.

Spouses of employees (and students) may obtain a spouse card. This card can be used to add dining plans. Employees and spouses are required to visit the Eagle Card Center to provide proof of identity and a marriage certificate. The fee is $20.

If you live on or off campus, the replacement fee for a physical Eagle Card is $20.

If you are getting a replacement Eagle Card for an old, worn or damaged Eagle Card, turn in your old Eagle Card and receive up to a 50% discount on your new Eagle Card (or $10).

There is no feet to activate a digital Eagle Card Mobile ID.

EagleXpress is a stored value account attached to the Eagle Card. Students, Faculty and Staff can deposit funds into an account and use their Eagle Card to make purchases on or off-campus. When a purchase is made, the amount of the transaction is automatically deducted from the account balance.

Any student can get EagleXpress- even those with a Contract Dining Plan. The EagleXpress account is also available for faculty and staff.

Your account is activated when the initial deposit is made, and deposits can be made as often as needed.

EagleXpress deposits can be made at many different locations: the Eagle Card Office in the Dining Commons, at the Kiosk in Dining Commons, Lakeside, and through our website. Deposits can be made with cash, money orders, checks, Mastercard, or Visa. Deposits can also be made online through your eAccount or by mobile by downloading the Transact eAccounts app for Android or iOS.
