Lakeside Set to Bring the Islands of Hawaii to Campus with the Annual Luau
Eagle Dining Services is bringing the spirit of Hawaii to Lakeside’s annual Luau event on Thursday, April 20 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Lakeside will be closed from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the day of the event to prepare and transform the venue into an island oasis.
Lakeside Executive Chef, Clay Culpepper, said his goal for the Luau menu is to “have items that compliment the theme, while also incorporating our unique Georgia Southern spin. I want to provide dishes reminiscent of a Hawaiian luau, but not necessarily traditional Hawaiian foods.” The menu will feature delicious foods such as, Orange-Anise Glazed Duck Breast, Coconut Crusted Shrimp with Red Curry Sauce, assorted desserts and a non-alcoholic Mai Tai cocktail.
Students, faculty, staff and the community are welcome to attend this year’s Lakeside Luau. Eagle Dining Plan holders will have all-access to the Luau under their dining plan, Eaglexpress cost is $12, and for entry using cash, credit or debit it is $15 + tax.
