COVID-19 Testing

COVID-19 testing is offered to Georgia Southern University students, faculty, and staff with or without COVID-19 symptoms. Please read the information below for details on our three testing options.

Public Health Testing Kiosks

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) has placed testing kiosks on Georgia Southern University’s campuses, allowing access to free COVID-19 and influenza (flu) testing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

After completing a brief registration form, the kiosks dispense two individual test kits with nasal swabs and instructions on collection the specimens. Nasal swabs must be done for each test. Once the specimens are collected, they should be packaged back into the kits and placed in the kiosk.

Specimens are picked up daily from these locations and sent to an accredited lab for multiplex and PCR testing. In most cases, individuals will receive notification of their test results by email or text within 48 hours of specimen collection.

Pre-registration for testing at the kiosks is not required, but available on the Test and Go site. There is no out-of-pocket cost for the tests provided through a DPH kiosk, but for those individuals with insurance, their insurance will be billed for the test.

In-House Rapid Testing

Symptomatic students may schedule an appointment with their Health Services provider for evaluation and in-house rapid testing on the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses. Click here to schedule an appointment today!

At-Home COVID-19 Test Kits

At-Home COVID-19 Antigen Test Kits are now available in the Health Services Pharmacy on the Statesboro campus. These tests are a convenient and affordable option for students, faculty, and staff.
