Operation Move-In is the official start to the fall semester at Georgia Southern University’s Statesboro and Savannah campuses. It is an exciting time as we welcome students into the residence halls and prepare to kick off the academic year.

Operation Move-In Date Announcement

2021 Operation Move-In (OMI) will take place on Friday, August 6 and Saturday, August 7. More information regarding OMI will be sent to students throughout the summer including information regarding signing up for a move-in timeslot, early arrival information and instructions, and information on how to prepare for moving to campus. Please note, students who are part of specialty programs may be asked to move into the residence halls early (see information below).

As information is made available the subsequent pages will also be updated.

Early Arrivals

If you are participating in certain University sponsored functions (Panhellenic Recruitment, Residential Learning Communities, Marching Band, etc) you may be required to move in early to the Residence Halls. You should check with your sponsoring department to verify your Early Arrival requirements. You can also view more on Early Arrivals on each of our specific campus pages above.

Check-In Information

Your check-in location will vary based upon which day you are arriving on campus. Please use the information below to help guide your check-in process.

Armstrong Campus Students

For students arriving on the Armstrong Campus on August 6 or August 7, your check-in will take place at the Compass Point Clubhouse. The address for the Armstrong Campus is 11935 Abercorn Street, Savannah GA. The Armstrong Campus map linked below will help guide you to the Compass Point building. You can plan to park at the Sports Center Parking Lot or Residential Parking Lot 2 for check-in. Students who are approved early arrivals coming prior to August 6 will check in at the University Housing office located in the Compass Point 7000 Building.

Statesboro Campus Students

If you are arriving for Operation Move-In on August 6 or 7, residence hall check-in will take place at Paulson Stadium. Traffic will be routed on Akins Boulevard to reach Paulson Stadium. Please use the following GPS address to go to Paulson Stadium: 1939 Akins Blvd, Statesboro GA. For students arriving on the Statesboro Campus between August 2 and August 5 as approved early arrivals, your check-in will take place at the University Housing office in Watson Commons. The address for Watson Commons is 1630 Chandler Road, Statesboro GA.

Connecting to GS Wireless

Connecting to wireless networks makes accessing the internet convenient and efficient. Both secure and guest wireless network access is available on the Armstrong, Liberty, and Statesboro Campuses. GS Wireless, Georgia Southern’s wireless network system, is comprised of four wireless networks (or SSIDs) that can be used by Georgia Southern students, faculty, staff, and guests. Keep reading to find out more information about our wireless networks.
