Purchasing a Permit
To purchase online, login to the Parking & Transportation Web Portal. You may also access the web portal via MyGS under Auxiliary Services > Parking Permits & Citations. Any outstanding parking citations must be settled prior to purchasing a permit. You may also purchase your permit in-office during normal business hours.
Students with a lot preference should purchase their permits as early as possible. Permit sales for the upcoming academic year start on April 10. There is a $5 fee for each additional vehicle registered to a permit. All permit values are pro-rated through the academic year.
Changes, Updates and Refunds
Changes to your permit, such as adding/editing/removing vehicles, changing locations or requesting an early permit expiration/termination can be done via the web portal. Simply select the permit to see available options and their associated fees.

All students who reside in Residence Halls on campus will be restricted to their assigned parking area between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Resident students will park their vehicles in the campus lots which are labeled with letters on the campus map corresponding to the letter on their parking permit. Resident permits are also valid at RAC.

Commuter Permit: $160/year (Statesboro), $50/year (Armstrong), Free (Liberty)
Permits are lot specific on the Statesboro Campus. Can utilize 30-minute spaces around campus. RAC and stadium parking are also permitted.
Commuter Carpooling: $110/year (Statesboro)
In an effort to reduce the number of cars on campus, we offer Carpool Permits. As an incentive to join a carpool, we provide preferential parking to each carpool group. Students will be able to share the cost of the permit and the expense of driving to campus. Students enrolled in a carpool are not eligible for any other permit.
On days when multiple vehicles must be driven to campus, one would park in a carpool, and the additional drivers would park at Paulson Stadium and use the transit system to access the center of campus.
Carpools must have two or more members, each contributing at least one vehicle of their own. Groups qualifying for carpool status will be able to purchase one parking permit to share and will be allowed to park in the elected Carpool Parking area on campus. Carpool spaces are available in Lots 21, 32, and 42. Car Pools will be assigned to only one Car Pool area. Permit sales for these spaces will be limited to assure availability. All members of the Car Pool should enroll online for the opportunity to purchase a permit.
Motorcycle: $50/year (Statesboro) $25/year (Armstrong)
Motorcycle permits are required for all motor-driven cycles including motorcycles, scooters, minibikes motorbikes and mopeds being 2 or 3 wheeled with any engine size. Equipment classified as a moped (<50cc) under Georgia law will be subject to the same permitting requirements on any GS campus. Motorcycles are permitted to park in any lot within a properly-signed Motorcycle Parking area. At the owner’s option, motorcycle permit holders may also utilize end-of-row areas denoted by yellow hatches whereas they do not interfere with traffic flow, crowding vehicle parking stalls, ADA access to sidewalks and/or not signed as a No Parking area. Permit placement shall be on the suspension forks of the front wheel. Motorcycles are not permitted to park in any regular vehicle spaces unless utilizing a time zone (30 min or 1hr). Riders are required to obey all Georgia laws concerning motorcycle operation.
Faculty & Staff Permit: $100/year (Statesboro and Armstrong campuses), No Charge (Liberty Campus)
Faculty and staff will park their vehicles in lots designated by Faculty and Staff parking signs. Many Faculty and Staff lots are controlled by parking gates, and access is gained with a hangtag permit. Commuter or Faculty and Staff permits are not allowed to park in Car Pool spaces. Permits are valid only on registered vehicles. If you are Faculty or Staff and have a green validation sticker on your hangtag that reads “Valid Until Termination,” you do not have to renew your permit. It will continue to be payroll deducted from you and is valid until you leave Georgia Southern.
Faculty & Staff Carpooling: $100/year (Statesboro), Free (Armstrong & Liberty)

Employees will be able to share the cost of the permit and the expense of driving to campus. Employees enrolled in a Car Pool are not eligible for a permanent faculty/staff permit.
Carpools must have two or more members. Groups qualifying for carpool status will be able to purchase one parking permit to share and will be allowed to park in the more convenient Car Pool Parking spaces on campus. Carpool spaces are available in Marvin Pittman, Herty, and Newton, Faculty/Staff lots. (see Faculty/Staff Car Pool map). Car Pools will be assigned to only one Car Pool lot.
